![]() Here\'s my personal, humble, and insignificant opinion, which is pretty similar to the ones already written.\n\nI think the song is about someone1 who likes/loves someone2 else, and has some serious attachment to this person. Some people could probably relate see it as drug addiction.\n\nAs horrible as this situation and relationship sounds to be in, this song still makes me feel so lonely lol. \n\nThe "waves", and drowning in the "waves" can be interpreted as many different struggles. ![]() Would you do the same for me? Do you love me as much as I love you? Would you drown (die) for me, just as I would drown (die) for you?" \n\nThis song is really beautiful and perfectly demonstrates the darker aspects of codependency, trust, validation, and obsession. someone1 is probably in, what i think, a one-sided relationship and is questioning the trust, love, and attachment the other person has for them ("would you?")\n\nThe verses: \n\nJust as I\'d rehearsed over in my brain\nThe waves suck you in and you drown\nIf like, you should sink down beneath\nI\'ll swim down, would you?\nYou?\n\nTell me that the someone1 is pretty obsessed with this idea of getting validity and certainty of whether the other person loves them back because he says that he "rehearsed over and over" in his head asking his person, "if, like, you sink, then i would sink with you. And let me just tell you, doing that shit to anybody is fucking horrible. But at the same time, the person is tired and frustrated because the person she/he loves is keeping them around only to constantly tease them, "you hanged the anchors over my neck, i liked it at first, but the more you laughed the crazier i came." and he/she's questioning what the loved one really wants "is that what you want?".a lot like being in the "friend zone", to put it easier
